Bargain Shopping, Presents, and BBQ!

THANK YOU MIKE & HEIDI!
Saturday we opened our front door to a package from Mike & Heidi Lee. I was so curious what they were sending us...my first thought was something of ours accidentally made it into their luggage coming back from Mexico. Tom opened the box and pulled out something wrapped in bubbles, I could see it was wood so I thought maybe it was a picture frame or something. He took off the wrap and...dun dun dun...it was a cribbage board, made just for us from the Lees themselves! We learned how to play in Mexico and as soon as we got home, we bought a board. We play almost every night because we love the game. So Mike made the board with all different types of wood and he even put Hemlock on the sides which made Tom super happy. (Since he is the sales manager of M&M's hemlock mill) Anyway, the cribbage board is GORGEOUS and we LOVE it!!!

It's finally that time of year! I don't have to cook anymore! Baha, kidding. We broke out the grill this weekend and Tom was in heaven. He even swept the back deck of all the leaves just to make room for the BBQ. It was delicious! The sun has been shining all week. I'm hoping for some more rain, but I do like using the grill in between the April showers. (Which by the way are bringing April weeds to go along with them...)

My great Sunday. We went shopping in Tulalip which has a bunch of outlet stores. (Similar to Park City outlets) My goal was to buy new shoes because it's been forever and even though I make crap for a paycheck...I deserve a little something here and there. We went to Nine West and I found the perfect shoes. They were having a BOGO sale, but I couldn't find another pair to go along with the shoes I had already picked. I did however spot this lovely purse that I really wanted, but I decided against it. So while at the register the guy says, "You didn't find another pair of shoes for the 1/2 off sale?" and I said, "No, but I would take that purse for 1/2 off instead." I said it sarcastically, but I was hoping for the best. He said, "Why not, I'll do it." So I got my shoes (they are gorg by the way...navy blue and white stripes with red trim on the top...ah...) and my purse which holds just about everything! I was so proud of my bargaining skills and Tom topped it off with..."The apple doesn't fall too far from the tree." (My mom always talks prices down to the bare min when she is shopping garage sales...we always make fun, but she always gets great deals...or she rips people off of their items...oh well, their just garage sales.) Then he followed it with, "It's acceptable to bargain at a garage sale, but not a retail location." Whatev, I still got a good deal, and I love my purchases!

Also, I'm so excited to announce I will be flying home May 1st-4th thanks to Moulding & Millworks general manager! They had an extra ticket that if it wasn't used by a certain time, they would lose it. So we offered to buy it so I could go home for a few days to see my family who I MISS tremendously. Mainly Hali, Niki, Remi, Ed, & Ell (no offense to the rest of you, but we all know the kids are the most important people in all our lives...) Paul, Tom's boss, told him to transfer the ticket over to my name at no charge and consider it a thanks from the company for supporting M&M and Tom with the moves and traveling and all the good stuff that goes with Toms new job title. I wanted to cry, I am so thankful!! Moulding and Millwork has been such a great company...not only to Tom, but to all their employees...it's great!

Glad you liked the board...hopefully it gets good use.

A great thank you to M&M would be for you to bake a sheet cake and bring it into the office. Oh wait, that is reserved for work anniversaries only.
