It's a pretty long story, so the first part is a little condensed...
Last Saturday I decided to attempt a craft project. I had been told by Julie and Critter to go to Home Depot, but I insisted on trying craft stores first. Well, that failed, so I had to go to Home Depot...let me say that I was exhausted by this time from driving around to all the stores before I got to HD.
This is what happened...
1st- I wander around Home Depot for almost 30 minutes looking for someone to help me.
2nd- I find some guy, finally! His head was shaved except for the very front part that was split down the middle. (should have been my first sign)
3rd- I tell him that I need a 4x4 post cut into square blocks. He says ok, pick it out and I will be at the saw in a minute. Forgetting that I'm at a place that doesn't focus on service, I tell him that I already have it picked out. He looked at me and said ok, I will meet you there in a minute. I haul the 8' post over to the saw and wait for like 5 minutes. I'm super annoyed, so I go to find him. He looked at my like I'm an idiot and repeated, I will be there in a minute.
4th- So finally he gets up to the saw. He asked me what I intended to do with the blocks. So I explain to him by saying, "I need 8 square blocks for a craft project. I don't need the entire post cut, but I will pay for the entire thing."
5th-The guy cuts the blocks and stacks them one by one on top of each other. He then hands them to me and says, "now you do understand the post is not a true 4", it's 3 1/2" so they are not a perfect square." I was so upset that all I could say was, yeah I know, and then walk away. Anyone who works with lumber should know and remember that a 4x4 is 3.5x3.5! I didn't ask for a 4" block, I asked for a square block! The SQUARE was mentioned about 10 times. I'm pretty sure he remembered after he cut them and was like, "oh crap, I better make her feel like the ass" He didn't even offer to carry the 9 blocks to the register. That's right, there were nine and I asked for 8!
6th-I awkwardly walk up to the register and put my blocks on the black mat. The girl looks at me and says, "Do you have a sku?" I said no and told her its a 4x4x8 post and I didn't use the entire thing, but she can charge me for it and it's 50 cents a cut, and I have 9 cuts. She stares at me again and says, "I need a sku." So I repeated myself. She has a computer...look it up!! Luckily I see a little sticker on one of the blocks. So I ripped it off and said, "is this what you need?" She took it from me, rolled her eyes while saying yes, and then started laughing! So by this point I'm pissed and I just want to get out of there. She scans the sku and says "Do you really want to pay for the whole thing? It's 14.96!" So I said, "Don't you have to charge me for the entire thing?" and she said Yes! I'm still confused why she was asking me if I wanted to pay for the whole thing when I have to. Geez!!! So I get it all paid for and she hands me my receipt and stares at me. My blocks are still on the mat waiting to be bagged. I had to ask the girl for a bag and she was like, "oh yeah, here" as she piles them into bags.
So I left in a huge hurry, finally got home and sat in my car in the garage until I found enough energy to walk upstairs and lay in bed. So now I have promised that I will never go to Home Depot again. I prefer Lowes anyway, it's a lot cleaner....or I guess I could buy from my own company, but then I wouldn't have anything to blog today.

Ha Ha ha! Home Depot has the worst service in the world! I'm sorry I had to laugh, I've been in similar situations there.
HOme depot is the worst for customer service..I agree!! What are you making? Something fun?
That is so funny in an infuriating way. Sounds like SLC service at its finest. You making cute letter blocks???
What a funny story. I like the "Holmes Deepo" ( mexican accent). You are so funny when you are being annoyed by someone. They could probably see it in your face. It is certtainly funny. Did you tell him 3.5"? Of course not!! ha ha ha ha....You are funny
