Day 2: Closest Friend

Day 2

Person you have been closest friends with the longest.

I've got a handful of friends who have been around since elementary school. However, the one person I've known the longest, family aside, is Kimberly Ann Smith.
My mom was Kim's mothers visiting teacher in 1987. Since I was only 2 years old, she would take me to Janet's house during her visits. Kim & I would play for hours together while our mom's chatted in the front room. This turned into play dates, which turned into sleep overs, and has since become a life long friendship!

We've shared a lot of things over the past 23 years. In fact, the first boy to hold Kim's hand was also the same boy to hold my hand for the first time. He was quite the ladies man, he knocked off two hand holding sessions while walking us both home from school in 3rd grade. It caused a temporary wedge in our friendship, until we got to her house and dished about over after-school snacks. Although we don't spend a lot of time together anymore since we live in different states, we still stay in contact and I know I can always count on her! She's also got the cutest little babe, he's more of a toddler now, and looks just like her!

I remember Kim! I haven't seen her since 5th grade though. That's awesome that you have kept in touch! I'm curious who the boy was that held both of your hands in 3rd grade! :)
