Yep, it's true, I have the packing blues. Last week before the chaos started I was thinking, "I won't be working anymore and I will be able to get everything packed in a day!" Yeah Right!!
Tom and I started on Saturday in the office which has the least amount of crap in it. Oh about 3 hours later we were almost finished and I decided it was time to call it a night. Yesterday I got the bathrooms packed and one of them cleaned, that in itself took about 2 hours. It's exhausting packing everything and to be honest, I've never had to pack this much stuff! Every time I moved from apartment to apartment in Boise I had like 10 boxes, 1 bed, 1 dresser. That was it. It was usually two car trips and 1/2 a day later. When we moved to Salt Lake we had movers take care of it all, they packed boxes, loaded the truck, drove it to SLC, unpacked all the boxes into each room. It happened while I was at work so it was no big deal.
We did take a break yesterday afternoon to fix my car. Let me re-phrase...for Tom to fix my car while I handed him tools (usually the wrong ones...something about 10mm and 3/8 dealys were confusing to me). About three years ago I came outside my apartment to find my Xterra half way on the sidewalk knocking over a stop sign with a big dent in the drivers side and front bumper. There was a cop on the scene who let me know that a drunk driver had taken out my car while driving and she was broken down about a block away. She didn't have insurance! So Allstate fixed my car on the OUTSIDE, they didn't replace a lot of things including my windshield wiper reservoir. Tom the Great took the front of my car apart last night and pulled out the holder, he then melted it back together and used GOOP to bond it. Now it's as good as new! I won't have to worry about driving in the rain anymore.
We are still looking for a house. While we were waiting for our first option to get back to us, our back up plan was rented. We made phone calls all weekend and got a lot of "sorry no pets" and "we have another person interested, will get back to you if it falls through" so we are settling for another townhome. We really wanted a house with a backyard for the dogs, but it looks like we would have to buy for that. Tom would love to buy, but I want to get a feel for the area first and I would like to have the security of a job before making such a huge commitment. He went to work with three options, so hopefully by tomorrow we will have the papers signed and a place to live!

We went out on Halloween with Ryan & Ineke, Ian & Tamra and their friend Jen from Oregon. Our original plan was to go to a place called Port O Call. It's a bar that has 4 levels, different bands on two of them and music on the bottom level. Unfortunately the lines were wrapping around the block so we drove down State St. for an alternative place to go. We stopped off at a place called Bar De Luxe. It looked run down, but could be fun. We walked inside to a very scary place! I wasn't sure if people were dressed up for Halloween or if it was their regular outfit. It ended up being a heavy metal bar, we were sure someone was going to be sacrificed before the end of the night. Curiosity got the best of us and we stayed and stared at all walks of life that night. It ended up being a lot of fun even though I was scared most of the night!

Good luck with the move. You are amazing cause packing takes me days if not months!! HA!
Oh boy!!! It's been good having you up here visiting Sweetie. Your Pops is going to miss you bad!! I really am. I know you're coming for Christmas but I still want to be closer to you! Come on, You'll be out in egypt anyway and none of us will be able to see you as we can in good ol SLC
It's a great career opportunity for Tom, money wise it makes sense. And you have to think, Toms family has been far away from him for three years now, it's their turn to have him close. Besides...you guys only came to see me when we lived in Salt Lake. Mom came once when I lived in Boise, David came a couple times and Dad only came for work. So I don't see what the big deal is. It would be great to have full support from the entire family instead of setting us up for failure before we even leave. Besides, I've hated living in Salt Lake the entire time I was here...
