Wedding colors

Seriously people.  Picking wedding colors is one of the most difficult decisions I've ever had to make.  I loved brown and green, but we couldn't find anything to go with it.  I loved green and black, but we want to stay away from formal, so black was thrown out.  We didn't like green as the main color because it wasn't enough.  It seemed to get worse every time we tried to find the perfect colors.

So today we went to Red Robin, or "The Dirty Bird" as Tom calls it, and sat down with nachos and drinks, wrote down all color combos we liked, and then narrowed them down one by one.  I am sure the decision was made faster than we expected since our waitress was absolutely horrible and we wanted to get out of her section as fast as possible.

We are (no laughing) going for a "Fall/Fiesta" type theme for the reception because we both LOVE Mexican food.  We knew from the beginning we wanted Chipotle style food for dinner with chips and salsa on each table.  I already ordered personalized hot sauces, so we are set and both excited about the food choice!  I'll be walking down the ailse to 'La Bamba'....just kidding!  So with that in mind we were able to agree on colors.

Are you ready?

...Dun Dun Dun....

Reds, Oranges, Yellows, & Greens!

My totally awesome mom is making flower girl dresses for my cute little nieces.  She is also making a dress for my maid of honor because her dress will be different than the bridesmaids.  That lifted a huge weight off my shoulders and gives her a fun summer project (wink wink)!  I have to say that my mom is a great seamstress.  I wore dresses almost every day from K-3...I remember getting made fun of for playing kickball in a dress with a huge petticoat underneath...I was such a nerd!  (Tom said, "Some things never change")

So we now have a venue for the ceremony and reception, food figured out (fingers crossed), photographer, and colors!  Now onto 'Save The Date' cards...Scrapadoodle (my new favorite store) here I come!  Tom will be out of town all week so I have tons of time to plan.
