Last Sunday Tom and I drove down to Tacoma to spend Easter with his family and to celebrate two birthdays. Tom's mom, Julie, is such a sweetheart. She went out and got all the egg dying materials so I could have an Easter like I did at home. So we got to Tacoma and she had all the stuff ready on the table! Seriously amazing. So Angela and I got to dye eggs before we went over to their grandparents house.
Next we drove to Toms grandparents to celebrate his grandmothers 75th birthday! Almost the entire family was there. Cecelia (his grandma) had 9 children! Also amazing. 7 of them showed up with their spouses and children. Tom is the oldest of 33 grandchildren with more on the way. We ate breakfast food and caught up with all his relatives for a couple hours which was fun. Then of course the best part....cake and ice cream!!!
We then drove back to Toms parents house for Easter dinner and Cecelias birthday. Julie made her FAMOUS TACOS! They were delicious! She buys a mondo bag of corn tortillas and cooks them in oil to form a taco. She then has all the toppings ready for scooping. The most amazing part happens at the dinner table. Julie stands up and scoops every ones tacos for them. They go down so quick, so she ends up scooping tacos almost the entire meal and those are the rules. She is definitely a better woman than me because I would let everyone do their own...especially after cooking it all. After dinner we had again the best part...cake and ice cream!
So I may have gained 10 pounds last Sunday, but it was totally worth it.
