Update

Tom and I have been on the go all summer, which makes it hard to find a time to blog. I seem to always be debating whether I should delete all my social networking time wasters, but I came to the conclusion that I'll never be rid of them. Why? Because I really like them; blogs, facebook, & even twitter, even though it totally confuses me!

We're now back into football season. I have to say I'm either lucky, or crazy, or both! We are season ticket holders and get to go to every home game. The games are in Seattle, so it's a 90 minute drive each way, but definitely worth it. We have a big group that gets together every week and we meet about 5 hours earlier and start the "Tailgate" process. There's a core group at each tailgate and we always have a few stragglers which keeps it exciting. It's one of my favorite parts about Saturday, we get to catch up with everyone we haven't seen during the off season, and hang out with the people we see on a regular basis, off season or not!

I imagine tailgating was a lot different when the guys were all in their early 20s, but it has even started to transition into a whole new process in the last year. We've been through the wedding phase and our now entering baby phase. A lot of our friends who have gotten married in the last few years are now starting to have little babies!

It's so much fun, and is changing the dynamic of the group. It's so fun to see these grown men, all dressed in purple, gushing over a newborn, or running around with a 2 year old thinking the 24" tall person is the greatest thing since sliced bread.

A couple weeks ago it was way too warm in the Pacific Northwest. No one is used to that kind of heat, and two of the guys, Tom being one of them, fell asleep after the game! I made a joke how I bet it would have never happened 10 years ago, but there was some truth to it.

So far this season has been the best. I didn't watch a lot of football before I met Tom. My family is and always has been a music family. So while others were watching football on Saturday & Sunday, we were at music gigs. (Or dancing around the living room with a brush-microphone trying to perfect every lyric to every Ella Fitzgerald song....including the duets with Louis....I was and am a total nerd.) It took me a few years to understand the game to a point I could enjoy it for 4 full hours! I still don't fully understand it, but I absolutely LOVE it and can't help feeling like I missed out on a lot of good games in my pre-football past. This season we started out with a new quarterback, so I feel more invested in the team than I did before. And I finally got over the idea that I couldn't be an open fan towards a college team that I was never a student at. We're off to a great start to the season, and we have many more tailgates to go!
And hopefully we'll be bringing by a baby in the near future! :)

Yeay football!

I've also thought about stopping the social media but it's not going to happen. Let's commiserate together. On Facebook. Ha ha!
