It's Time

Every weekend I say to myself (and usually to Tom as well), "Alright Self, Monday is the day I'm going to start my diet and exercise!  I need to lose weight!"  Then Monday rolls around with a tiresome start and my first stop before work is Woods Coffee for a 20 oz White Mocha.  Hello calories!  I do better at lunch with my 5" sandwich from Port o Subs, but it's not great because I love their mayo/mustard mix. Then by dinner I'm screwed because I'm exhausted from the day and usually end up eating out with Tom.  We then end up at a local restaurant sharing nachos, which are unhealthy in every way, and polishing off a couple drinks at the same time.  Again, hello calories!

So today, another morning passed where I didn't get up to go to the gym, instead laid there in bed thinking about it until I fell back asleep after setting the alarm for an hour later.  Thinking nothing of it, I got up and ready for the day.  Grabbed my 20 oz mocha on the way to work and added a fruit and nut oatmeal to the list because I was hungry.  I'm already up to like 800 calories before 9 am...ugh.  I get to work and open up my email to see pictures my soon to be father in law sent over this morning.  First let me add, I don't feel fat, I don't think I look fat, and I don't think I am fat.  I do know I'm bigger than I have ever been before due to lack of moving around during the day.  I know I look bigger because I can't fit into my old jeans, I hate wearing fitted shirts because of the "love handles" and my chin is getting an extra friend below it.  Soon people are going to say, "Marissa has more chins than a Chinese phone book!"  No bueno!  Ok, so back to this picture Tom's dad sent.  I looked at it and wanted to scream!  What happened to my body!  This is the first time I've seen it in a full body picture that's not backed up leaning against something hiding my holy hips!  See for yourself....(no I didn't have to pee, not sure why I'm holding myself in the pee-dance position!)
After discussing my issue/goal with Tom this is what we came up with.
If I lose 8 lbs by May 1st, I get a new pair of pants under $50.
If I lose 10 lbs by May 1st, I get a new pair of pants with no price limit.

So the goal is month by month because I feel that's more attainable than saying I want to be a certain weight in 5 months or whatever.

The first challenge....lunch with no soda!  I LOVE Pepsi, so instead I'm going to try a ...dun dun dun... water!

Seriously? You have a fabulous figure! Also, I would love to get on board with your commitment, so if you want to e-mail each other what we eat or do weekly weigh-ins or something, let me know! I have a 5-month plan and I'm running out of time!
