Heart Concert

Ah September...the sweet smell of cotton candy, fried food, and carnies. Ok, maybe not so sweet. My dad used to take me to concerts at the Eastern Idaho State Fair every year! First concert I saw was Tanya Tucker & Joe Diffy, I was 8 (right dad?). If I remember correctly the last "fair" concert I saw was ZZ Top about 3-4 years ago, also with my dad. Most the bands I've seen are either in the beginning of their career, or as most would call "washed up". (Washed up to some may just be in my top 25 played on my ipod.) Anyway....For Valentine's Day this year Tom surprised me with concert tickets to Heart at no other than the Puyallup Fair. To give everyone an idea of the size of the fair here...take 16 Blackfoot fairs, and stick them in one location....there you have it. It's huge. Also, I dislike everything about the fair, except the concerts. Obesity grosses me out. With that being said...7 months after VDay...Tom and I drove down to Puyallup (2 hours south of Bham) to see one of my all time favorite bands. Believe it or not, but my rankings shift between 1. Led Zeppelin, 2. Heart, and every once in awhile I switch it up with something random. But those two are pretty much a constant. I love LZ, but Heart wins mostly on the ipizzle because I can sing along at the top of my lungs like a total girl. I have to grunge it a little more to sing along with Robert Plant. Ok, sorry, moving on....

This is us before the concert. I was a little tired from the drive, had a bit of a stressful day, you could totally tell. Apparently I shouldn't have hate for obese people considering my face is starting to balloon up from Taco Bell and Pepsi.

There they are...Ann & Nancy Wilson. Amazing. By the way, Nancy (the guitarist) is a total hottie! Tom and I were both in a bit of shock when she came out. Little teeny red head, awesome hair, skinny curvy little thing. Ann is bigger than she was 20 years ago, but still has a great voice. She actually has gorgeous eyes too. They live in Seattle, so it was fun being at the concert near their hometown.

Tom and I after the concert. Notice I got a shirt! I have a Winger & Night Ranger shirt that I wear all the time, so I figured it was time for a new one to add to the trashy tshirt collection...which usually ends up being a weekly wear for me! By the way, I love being in a stable relationship...it means I get to wear my 80's one hit wonder band shirts whenever I want and not care...lets be honest though, I didn't care before either.

They played two Led Zeppelin songs and I looked at Tom and said, "Best of both worlds!" Now I want to hear Robert Plant sing Barracuda! I loved when Ann sang "Alone", it was so good, and she hit those notes! This was by far one of the most entertaining and favorite concerts I have seen in a long time. Loved it. Thanks Tom!
