Saturday afternoon Tom and I went to Body World with Cindy and Denise. We started with PF Chang and after filling up on lettuce wraps and sweet and sour chicken we went to get our tickets for the exhibit. Of course they were sold out for the time we wanted, so we spent a couple hours at the library while we waited for our show time. First of all, the library is awesome. It's super contemporary and great for people watching. I was surprised by all the homeless people, mainly guys, who had hunkered down in the library to steer clear of the rain. Anyway, the body museum was pretty interesting; a little disgusting, but fun to see. My favorite part was the nervous system. It had a human without any skin, muscle or bone and just showed the nervous system which starts at the top and goes all through the body. It was insane. I wanted to take pictures so bad, but they threaten you at the beginning by saying you will be escorted out and your device will be taken away. The part the grossed me out was the stages of pregnancy. It shows a fetus from 5 weeks up to 32 weeks and all in between. I think it was at 12 weeks the fetus looks like a monkey. It's crazy that early on the limbs are being developed. That exhibit will sure change anyone's mind who is pro-abortion. It freaked me out to see that it is a real human in such a short amount of time! Still gives me the creepy crawlies to think about....especially knowing the displays are all real! They aren't just molded pieces of clay, they are actual people who have donated their life to science. Even freakier is that the place has a form you can fill out to be one of the displays when you die. I was definitely out on that!! It's only in Salt Lake for awhile, so go see it if you can. Definitely worth the $22.

My mom is coming to that this weekend I believe! I don't know if I could handle it. I would probably have nightmare! HA~ good thing you ate before hand! HA
yeah, it was pretty crazy to be in my anatomy class at byu and have all the jars of the fetuses all around... so did it stink in there or what? I would love that exhibit... I miss the days of taking a hacksaw to a cadavers skull to open it to extract the brain... muahahahahah
