Ocean Shores, WA

I'm slowly, but surely adding pictures from our vacation. The second day we were in Washington we drove to Ocean Shores which began our drive along western Washington. I've been to the ocean once and that was in California. Let me tell you that it is very different in Washington! I packed shorts and tank tops for our trip which is why you see me wearing the same sweater in every picture. I wore that thing over tanks for three days in a row because it was freezing cold everywhere!

This picture is from our drive to Ocean Shores. Everything road is gorgeous, covered with thick green trees. I barely had cell reception which was absolutely wonderful.

We went out on the jetty which was a first for me...a little frightening. The ocean water slams against the rocks and it was getting pretty late while we were out there so the water was splashing higher each time a wave came in.

Anyone who knows me is aware of the fact that I'm deathly afraid of water. The ocean was a whole new scary experience. It's such a strange feeling to look at the water and see nothing but sky and water. That is one thing I love about Idaho and Utah...you are enclosed in mountains and it feels safe. The ocean was still a great site, but a lot to take in. You can tell from the pictures above that Tom is happy to be home with water and green surroundings. I on the other hand was scared to death on the jetty. I did climb down far enough where the water would splash on me while waves came in, but that didn't last too long. (I was also doing the uncontrollable nervous laugh.)
